BPS was one coolly hilarious anime. It’s about the life of Shirase Akira who is a legendary freelance hacker who can “find the name, gender, income, and relatives of any virus author and disclose them to the whole world with just one keystroke.” Despite being poor and having to rely on his great-niece, Misao Amano, Shirase doesn’t take money for his hacking jobs. He lives in an apartment complex nearby his relatives’ large home (his niece and her daughter, Misao, it’s all very confusing at first) and due to that proximity convenience Misao often visits Shirase and has even been noted by a fellow classmate / short time exchange student as looking like his wife. They have a constant sexual/relational tension between them even though one is in elementary while the other is out of college. Whenever anybody comes to BPS to hire him to protect their company or save their nuclear weapons’ codes (yeah there’s a wide range of work for hackers apparently) they tend to walk in on Shirase in a suggestive and misleading position with his great-neice. Always good for a laugh.
Battle Programmer Shirase is a short 15 episode long show that will not disappoint the viewer. And if for some reason it does then I think you’re wierd and it doesn’t really matter because the episodes are only like 10 minutes long so you didn’t really waste much time.
BPS scored a 9/10 in my book and it was an easy watch, well capable of finishing in 1 sitting.
