This episode evokes one big “awh” from the viewer. You can’t help but feel happy watching it. The majority of the episode doesn’t matter in my mind because the biggest event involved Shin’ichirou finally holding up to his side of his bargain with Jun and asking Noe out. I felt really happy when Shin finally realized his interest in Noe and recognized her own interest in him. It’s funny beacuse the both of them didn’t quite know it, but somewhere inside them they did. When Shin asked her if she liked him romantically she started blushing and ran off. This made Shin realize that he kinda liked Noe back.
Hiromi didn’t get much attention during this episode outside of her cat fight with Noe. Which I must say wasn’t as sexually exciting as I pictured it would be. The whole fight started because Shin was all bummed out because he had found out that he is most likely related to Hiromi. This has him sulking around school and, of course, our beloved Noe picked up on his mood. She goes and confronts the one likely source, Hiromi. She invited Hiromi to eat the lunch Shin had turned down. At first I thought it was just gunna be another friendly lunch between them, but then I remembered the preview at the end of the last episode. I knew the fight was coming. What started it was a little unseen. I knew it’d be because of something Noe said because of the whole build up to it. She basically said that Hiromi can’t fly and she is distracted Shin, who can fly. This offends Hiromi to the point of retaliating. It didn’t really seem like she made the first move. I’m guessing ‘clasp the other girl’s hands and start a quarrel’ was in both of the girls’ minds. Noe of course was just continuing with her previous ammunition of “You can’t fly” stuff and Hiromi was playing the “You don’t know me!” This fight was ultimately decided in favor of Noe in my eyes because Hiromi ran like a whipped dog as soon as Shin showed up.
After the fight is when Shin sees Noe’s affection towards him and this leads into the big point of the episode.
In regards to my least favorite character, Ai, (yes Shin’s friend that I don’t even care to remember the name of has pulled ahead of his own girlfriend in my favor) she has become a whole lot more risky. Her boyfriend has, by now, figured out that Ai likes Shin. Whether or not he thinks Shin is actually acknowledging her love, I don’t think he thinks that Shin is. Ai begins to tell him but he cuts her off before she even has a chance to move into the major point of her conversation. The likelihood that she was going to break up with him was pretty good, but he tells her that he doesn’t want to hear anymore, knowing what she was most likely going to say, and that she is the only one for him. The next day at school he is so lost in thought that he loses his appetite and tells Shin that it’d be alright if it was him. And no, Shin had no idea what he was talking about.
That about covers all the things that are important other than Jun comforting Noe when she was confused about her feelings towards Shin. That older brother keeps dropping lines that make me wonder if blissmo was right in guessing that he likes his little sister. I guess I am just reading into it to much now that he put the idea in my head. Thanks a lot, bud!
Now for the real fun part of the episode, Shin’s confession. Shin finally tracks down Noe, who is too embarrassed to even look at hi, and asks her to go out with him. Noe beigns to blush and asks Shin if he likes her. He says “Yeah”. Then she tells him to say it clearly. “I like you, Noe.” So she freezes and tells him to write it on the ground. Shin gathers as many little rocks as he can and writes out the words on the ground this time, but he is short a few pebbles so Noe offers her mittens as a substitute to finish the message. The message is finished and the confession is obviously accepted. Noe states that she is wants to cry. She is so happy she could cry. But we all know, she can’t.
I didn’t really want to justify Aiko’s actions at the end of the episode, but I suppose they are important enough to mention. So here goes. Shin says he is going out with Noe, Ai throws a towel at him, starts “attacking” him, kisses him, and tells him to look at her. There. That’s it. I hate that girl.
