Persona -trinity soul- 04

I must admit I wasn’t entirely into this episode, not because it wasn’t a good episode, but because sci-fi’s animonday was airing an awesome Ninja Scroll movie. That’s beside the point though. This episode was more a setup one that any. There were no emerging personas until the very end and that wasn’t for battle.

Ryou has looked up places for Shin and Jun to move to and is leaving it to them to decide. But Jun seems to want to pull them all together while Shin just wants to know why they have to leave. During all this Shin is still hassling with the request from the detective. Shin has found Ryou’s list and even copies it over to his thumb drive, but by the end of the episode he tells the detective that no such list is present.

True Tears 04

This episode wasn’t very eventful until the end, but Shin’ichirou is getting closer to Hiromi constantly. This is something I don’t really like, but will have to put up with anyways. Shin found out last episode that Hiromi wasn’t getting close to Noe to get to him but to get to Noe’s older brother. This makes Shin pretty sad and he starts to avoid Hiromi as much as possible. Avoiding someone you live with doesn’t really work out that well and typically only has you looking like a dick. So the majority of the episode Shin is a dick to Hiromi and when she finally asks him if he’s avoiding her he puts on an act about just being a little upset that she wasn’t truthful with him and that he is just fine but wishes that he had known the reason why she wanted to get close to Noe from the start. This conversation was kind of awkward and made me feel bad for Shin, but I felt worse for Hiromi because of how she reacted to it. She had been coming out of her shell more, talking to Shin and noticing him outside of the house, and now she has to try and deal with his mixed up feelings. In regards to those feelings, I have a bet that she knows that he likes her.

Persona -tinity soul- 03

Confusing, confusing, confusing. The episode starts off with what I thought was a rape but turned out to be a forced shadow pulling. This shadow pull resulted in a destroyed karaoke room, a bunch of passed out / dead teens, and a bloody mess on the walls. We do not know what happens in the room but can assume that a persona caused the damage. The owner of that persona is most likely one of the two girls. One being immune to the drugs that evoke personas since birth (we find that out later) and the other having passed out immediately prior to the attack. This was something I missed. I didn’t seem to catch on that people that use personas take drugs in order to call on them, unless they are a natural like Shin and most likely his new buddy.

True Tears 03

This show is just so fun. Shinichirou is becoming closer with Hiromi. That kinda irritates me, but, oh well, it was evident. He now regularly receives the red seeds from Noe at a stalker form of rate. Everywhere he goes he sees those seeds (foot locker, desk, book back, etc.). Shin’s stupid friend Nobuse is convinced that Noe loves Shin, but Shin says otherwise and that it doesn’t matter to him anyways. This makes me wonder because it is obvious that he has some feelings for her because when he sees her with the guy who is picking her up from school he is a little shaken. Turns out this guy is her brother. That made me so glad because when I saw her getting on that bike with him my own heart broke a little. I kept hoping over and over again that it wasn’t brother.

One Piece “Water 7” 227-263

This was a big arc and a great one too. It’s fairly obvious that I am looking forward to Enies Lobby even more, and I finally made it there!

The Water 7 arc starts with the Strawhats going to Water 7 to set their pose but finding that it is the leading island on shipwrights and carpenters. The island holds the most skilled shipwrights in the world… and who exactly needs a shipwright? But that doesn’t really matter right now because everyone knows that Franky joins the crew, but not in Water 7, towards the end of Water 7 is when he actually starts caring about them.

Persona -trinity soul- 02

This episode was a very interesting one. It focused primarily on Shin and his confusion over his new found power. Even though this power only comes out when he’s in trouble. After defeating the guy from the last episode he finds himself up against a lady with the same persona powers when reinforcements arrived. Shin is defending himself again and he doesn’t know how. Shin is also apparently a Natural Special A type according to that same lady

With the last night’s troubles still weighing his mind he makes his way to school only to find that he slept half the day away in exhaustion missing lunch. He meets a girl who he happened to have seen the previous day at a family restaurant having a fight with a guy. The girl is openly against “shadow pulling” which is a sort of drug-like fad that has taken ahold of the school. Upon meeting a regular shadow puller and friend to the open minded girl, Shin tries the act. It isn’t really a drug. It involves pulling the shadow out of somebody, which coincidentally is a persona. Even though the students can’t willingly emit their personas and typically don’t even get a full pull there seems to be some correlation between the power and the city itself (I think). Because the oldest brother shows enthusiasm in getting his younger brothers out of the city in the near future. He talks about how it is now is exactly like an event that happened 10 years prior (I’m sure we’ll find out what that is exactly).

True Tears 02

I must say this show is showing more and more potential. My favorite character, Itsurugi Noe continues to get more interesting. At the start of the episode she explains to Shinichirou that she has given away her tears and she is on a quest to get them back, but she must take someone else’s. Throughout the episode Shin seems to toss over the idea that it is his tears she wants.

Because of the recent death of Raigomaru and her new born friendship with Shinichiro, she has shown more and more interested in him and has even said that she has high hopes for him. Shin is afraid that he has just become a replacement for Raigomaru and his fears are slightly right when she hands him the same food she used to give specifically to her favorite chicken.

True Tears 01

The second of the brand new shows that I have started watching and will be blogging about is True Tears.

I have to admit that I thought it was going to be gay, but I was willing to give it a chance. Calling a show gay coming from a guy who watches shoujo fairy shows is kind of awkward but I occasionally think that. But I must admit that this show was better than I thought it would be when I read through a summary of it. It is in short about a boy who is nervous around the girl he likes, that due to circumstances surrounding her father’s death now lives in his house. She is very quiet around the house and only seems to cooperate so well because her dad’s business partner’s family is so good to her (the main character’s family). That seems to be the gist of the show and will be the foundation for most of the following drama.

Persona -trinity soul- 01

Okay I must say this show is awesome! It just started recently and after having seen the first episode I wish it had started sooner so I could be watching a second or third already. I don’t quite understand the characters or plot yet, but it’s an intense show.

From what I can tell it’s a story of three brothers. The oldest is a police chief in charge of something called Reverse (which I assume would be a kind way of addressing the case of the serial murders of people’s bodies being turned inside out but it may go deeper than that). The two younger brothers had been away from their older sibling for 10 years but he doesn’t show any special interest in them returning home but hesitates in unlocking the front door at the mention of the youngest brother’s twin sister who is not present and I guess it’s safe for the viewer to assume she’s dead.

One Piece “Ocean’s Dream” 220-226

Finally I have gotten through these stupid, pointless arcs and have reached Water 7, but I’ll leave discussion of Water 7 until after I have finished it.

The majority of the Ocean’s Dream arc was the Strawhats scrambling against a stupid oppenant that eats memories. The arc didn’t really make much sense. One night, when everyone has gone to bed they are stealthily attacked by a young boy with a sea horse shaped flute. Everyone who was asleep, meaning everyone but Robin, loses all their memories up to the point of joining the crew. So Nami thinks she’s still a pirate hating cat burglar, Usopp thinks he is still the leader of his lame little children’s gang, Zoro thinks he’s a bounty hunter, so on and so forth. Robin tries her best to fill them in on their lost memories, but since she joined the crew last it is kinda hard for her.
